David Webster, which marched from Plymouth and towns adjacent to reinforce the garrison at Ticonderoga on the alarm in July 1777 and proceeded as far a Cavendish where we met out troops on their retreat. The1790 Federal Census shows Asa Hastings living in New Chester, Grafton, NH. He is over 16 years old. There are 4 males under 16 years. These are probably Joseph (13), Jonas (11), Amos (5) & Simeon (1). There are 4 females in the household. They are probably Molly (Lowell) Hastings his wife and daughters Lydia (15) Phebe (8) and Adnah (3).
The 1800 Federal Census shows Asa Hastings living in New Chester, Grafton, NH. He is over 45 years old. In the household are 4 males under 10 and 2 males 10 to 15. These could include Amos (15), Simeon (10), Asa (8), Moses (5). There is one female between 10 & 15, two females between 15 & 25. One female over 45 years would account for Molly (Lowell) Hastings. The others are probably Lydia (25), Phebe (18), and Adnah 13.
The 1810 Census shows Asa Hastings living in New Chester, Grafton, NH. He is over 45 years old. Also in the household is a female over 45 years. This is probably his wife Molly (Lowell) Hastings. There is also a male between 10 & 15. This is probably Moses ( 15).
The 1830 Federal Census shows Asa Hastings living in Bristol, Grafton, NH. He is 70 to 80 years old. There are two females in the household. Both are ages 70 to 80. One of these would likely be Molly (Lowell) Hastings.

Amos Hastings
Amos and Mary (Hill) Hastings, parents of Jonathan, settled in Brome Township a bit off the old Centre Road, between it and Brome Woods (now Iron Hill). The area came to be known as the hastings neighborhood and by 1864 (according to H. F. Walling's Map) there were four families by the name of Hastings living there. Adnah Hastings
Adnah and husband had 3 children in Canada and then moved to Kentucky where they had 7 more.
This is incredible. Asa Hastings was my fifth great grandfather. I am currently researching the Hastings tree on Ancestry.ca.
